Closer to the Rongbuk Monastery is the Everest Base Camp. The tour provides full insight into the age old Tibetan culture, tradition, art and history mixed with some adventure visiting the Everest Base Camp from the Tibetan side. En-route to the base camp from Lhasa, Mount Everest base camp tour from Lhasa will pass through the vast Tibetan plateau, crossing high mountain passes and witnessing the world’s highest mountain ranges including Mt. What to Expect

Everest Base Camp Tour from Lhasa is a journey into the base camp of Mt. Everest from the Tibetan side. After finishing sightseeing in Lhasa, you will drive towards the base camp of Everest passing along several remote towns of Tibet like Gyantse, Shigatse and finally arriving at Rongbuk. The monastery at Rongbuk, simply called Rongbuk Monastery, is supposedly the highest monastery in the world. From Rongbuk, you will hike/drive to the Everest Base Camp.

Day 1Arrive Lhasa (3,650m)

Arrive at Lhasa Gonggar Airport or train station, our representatives will meet you then drive to the capital of Tibet “Lhasa”. If transferred from the airport (60 km/1hr) one may view the Yarlung Tsangpo River/ Bhamaputra river (the Longest and largest river in Tibet) and Lhasa river on their way to Lhasa. The ancient city of Lhasa is situated at the banks of Kyichu River at 3,650 meters above sea-level. Upon arrival, check-in hotel and the rest at the hotel for better acclimatization. Day 2In Lhasa - Sightseeing

After breakfast, our guide shall meet you at the hotel’s lobby and proceed with sightseeing around Lhasa. First it will take you the Potala palace, the winter palace of Dalai Lama. This most symbolic landmark of Tibet built atop a single hill was by the first foremost King Songtsen Gompa.The most valuable collections here are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Caveofthe-33rd-great-king-of-Tibet. Then proceed to Norbulinka which means ‘Treasure park’ and considered to be the biggest man-made garden in Tibet. It covers an area of 36,0000 sq. m. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel. Day 3In Lhasa - Sightseeing

Today’s sightseeing covers Jokhang temple, Barkhor market, Sera Monastery. Jokhang temple was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in 7th century to promote Buddhism in Tibet. Inside the temple is the statue of Lord Buddha at an age of twelve which is perhaps the most idolized object in Tibetan Buddhism. Closer to Jokhang temple is the Barkhor street/market where one can do the kora (a religious circulation of the temple) with pilgrims and locals. Meanwhile, you can hunt for souvenirs at the market. Sera monastery is located 5 km north of Lhasa and it’s setting is one of the beautiful one. Once a community of more than 5,000 monks resided here but later on extinguished by the Chinese. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Lhasa

Day 4Lhasa – Gyantse (3,950m) - Shigatse (3,900m)

After breakfast beings a scenic drive to Gyantse with crossing over Khampa-La Pass (4794m) and the beautiful Nazin Kang Sang glacier (7252m) alongside the Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake). Soon comes another pass ‘Karo La Pass (5045m) before reaching Gyantse. In Gyantse, visit the Khumbum Stupa, Phalkor Monastery and Gyantse Dzong (fortress), one of the best preserved dzongs in Tibet. Afterwards, drive to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet, via the typical Tibetan countryside. Overnight at Hotel in Shigatse (3,900m)

Day 5Shigatse – Rongbuk (4,980m)

Early in the morning, visit the popular Panchen Lama’s Tashilunpo Monastery located in Shigatse. The monastery has both historical and cultural importance in Tibet and was founded by the first Dalai Lama of Tibet in 1477, Gendun Drup. Then begin the drive to Shegar crossing over Gyatchula pass (5,200m). Take a scenic drive to the Rongbuk Monastery and explore around; Rongbuk Monastery (4,980m) is considered the monastery located at the highest point on earth. Overnight at Hotel in Rongbuk (4,980m)

Day 6Rongbuk – Everest Base Camp – Shigatse (3,900m)

Early in the morning, start the hike/drive from Rongbok to Everest Base Camp (5,250 m). It takes about 2 hours. En-route enjoy majestic views of the 3 eight-thousander peaks like Shishapangma, Cho Oyu and the mighty Everest, also known as Mt. Chomolongma from the Tibetan side. Upon reaching the base camp, explore around, observe the marvelous Rongbuk glacier then back to Rongbuk. Afterwards, drive to Shigatse and check-in hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Shigatse

Day 7Shigatse - Lhasa (3,600m)

After breakfast, drive back to Lhasa tracing along the same Tibetan countryside route. The drive is about 7 hours. Overnight at Hotel in Lhasa

Day 8Lhasa - Depart

After breakfast, transfer to the airport or train station for your onward destination.
