Swoyambhunath or ‘Monkey Temple’ standing atop a hill providing 360 panorama of the entire Kathmandu Valley and the surrounding mountains. Itinerary

Day 1Arrive Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, our representatives will meet you and transfer to your hotel. After check-in hotel if you have a leisure time then you can explore around the city or simply relax at your hotel.

Day 2In Kathmandu – Sightseeing

After breakfast proceed with Kathmandu sightseeing tour with your private guide. Visit the cultural, religious and historical monuments which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These includes Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath ‘the Monkey Temple’, Pashupatinath- the sacred temple of Hindus and Boudhanath Stupa- one of the largest Buddhist Stupa in the world. Kathmandu Durbar Square has several age-old temples, palaces, shrines and was the center of power from where king ruled the nation in the earlier period. Swoyambhunath is located atop hill and provides spectacular panorama of the entire Kathmandu Valley. Lots of monkeys reside in it’s forested area thus the name ‘Monkey Temple’. Pashupatinath is the temple of Lord Shiva located at the holy Bagmati River. Closer by is the Boudhanath Stupa. After finishing the tour, return back to hotel.

Day 3Kathmandu to Pokhara (1,400m) Drive/Fly

After breakfast, proceed to the natural wonder of Nepal ‘Pokhara’. There the option of either flying or driving to Pokhara; by flight will take just 25 minutes flying with great mountain views and beautiful landscapes below. Though overland drive to Pokhara is also equally interesting passing along rivers, green forests, hills, small towns, shops and beautiful mountain panorama. It takes about 5-6 hours drive. Upon reaching Pokhara, check-in hotel.

Day 4In Pokhara – Sarangkot (1,600m) Sunrise & Pokhara City Tour

Wake up early in the morning and set-off to Sarangkot, the Himalayan vantage-point to witness spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas. Upon reaching a little walk is required to reach it’s vantage-point. Sarangkot provides magnificent panorama of the Annapurna range, Fishtail. Then return back to hotel. The day is then spent on Pokhara City Tour visiting many exotic locations like Bindabasini Temple, Seti River Gorge, Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave – the longest cave in south Asia and many more. Also visit World Peace Stupa located atop hill providing good view of the Fewa Lake and the Pokhara Valley. Then also visit Tibetan Refugee Camp, the residence of the exiled Tibetans. In the evening, boating at the Fewa Lake and visit the lakeside area where numerous restaurants are located.

Day 5Pokhara to Kathmandu (Drive/fly)

Bid farewell to beautiful Pokhara and fly or drive back to Kathmandu. Driving back is tracing the same route to Kathmandu passing along rivers, beautiful landscapes, village, small towns. By flight it takes about 25 minutes. Evening: We shall take you at one of the authentic Nepali restaurant for a Farewell Dinner which also contains traditional dances and cultural shows. Afterwards, return back to your hotel.

Day 6Kathmandu – Paro (2,250m) - Flight & transfer to Thimphu (2,350m)

Today fly from Kathmandu to Paro passing over the world’s tallest mountains including Mt. Everest. Upon arrival at the Paro International Airport, our representatives will meet/greet you. Then drive towards Paro town for lunch. After lunch, drive towards Thimphu which is an hour’s drive. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check-in hotel and rest of the time is sightseeing around Thimphu visiting Buddha’s Point, Takin Preserve, Tashichoe Dzong, King’s Memorial Chorten, Centenary Market, the new authentic craft bazaar, Folk heritage museum etc.

Day 7Thimphu- Punakha (1,310m)

After breakfast, drive to Punakha all along the east-west highway for about 3 hours. En-route pass through Dochula pass at 3,100 meters. In a clear day, the pass commands great panorama of the eastern Himalayas. After the pass, the road descends down to Punakha valley. Coming closer to Punakha, take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to ‘Drukpa Kuenley’. The temple is also known as the fertility temple located amid rice fields on a hillside and pilgrimage site for childless couples. Later on drive to Punakha. Afternoon: Visit the impressive Punakha Dzong located at the confluence of Pho-chu (male-river) and Mo-chu (female-river).

Day 8Punakha – Paro (2,250m)

Re-tracing your route back to Paro again crossing over Dochula pass (3,100m). Upon reaching Paro, check-in hotel. Later on visit Paro Ringpong Dzong built around 17th century. It’s also called ’the fortress of the heap of jewels’. A quick descend arrives at the covered cantilever bridge marked with giant stupas.

Day 9Paro – Hike to Taktsang Monastery ‘Tiger’s Nest’ (3,120 m)

Early in the morning, drive to the base of the most popular monastery in Bhutan ‘Taktsang Monastery’, also called Tiger’s Nest located outskirts of Paro town the begin hike toward the monastery. It’s take about 2 hours for energetic to get the dramatic view of the monastery. It’s believed the Guru Padmasambhava came here in a flying tigress and meditated in the 8th century. Later on, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Then back to Paro town for overnight stay.

Day 10Trip concludes & fly to onwards destination

Bid farewell to the Dragon Kingdom and we shall transfer you to the Paro International Airport to catch your onward flight.
