To visit Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and certain parts of Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh and Uttarakhand located close to the disputed border with China/Tibet, a permit known as an Inner-Line Permit (ILP) or a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) is required. RAP is reintroduced in Nagaland and Mizoram for foreign travellers where Meghalaya and Manipur are considering doing so. Traveling to the Andaman and Lakshadweep Islands, and some parts of Kutch in Gujarat also requires permit.
